Rebecca Tilden - Administrator

Rebecca has been associated with the Woodturning School almost since its inception. She takes care of enrollment, registration and class coordination.

In addition, she prepares and forwards all of our press releases, ecommuniqués and nearly all other written correspondence. And most importantly, she’s now taking classes right here at the school as much as her full and happy family life will permit.

Ken Keoughan - Founder and Director

Ken became involved with turning shortly before his retirement in 1994; and is now, obviously, a most avid turner. He spent seven and a half years as a Contributing Editor to American Woodturner Magazine; as well as having his work displayed and sold in several galleries and exhibitions.

He founded the Woodturning School because he loves woodturning and the people associated with it. He felt that there was a need - and a place - for a systematic approach to woodturning education.

“This is not a hobby or avocation”, he points out. “This is a lot of hard work that is fueled by passion.”

Alumni Advisors

Our Alumni Advisors play a very important role at the Woodturning School.   They are people who have taken several courses at the school; and they also have important individual skills ranging from marketing to business acumen which they bring to bear to help improve the school and its programs.

They are sufficiently honest to tell the staff, including the director, when and why they disagree.  Every good business needs a “No” person.  And they encourage and help in countless other ways.  They bring “Objectivity” to Ken’s “Passion”.

Andy Hoyt - Our Web Guy

Andy is an award winning web designer who just also happens to turn wood; and he’s been taking care of this web site since its launch in November of 2006. We say that’s a good thing because we have no idea how this stuff works. Andy says, “Neither do I, but every once in a blue moon, I get lucky.”
