Bob Biette

Bob Biette
Brunswick, Maine

bob biette 01I’ve been turning wood since the early nineties – it started as a simple hobby and quickly became an avocation. I’ve been a member of the Maine Woodturners since I started turning and have learned not to look at turning as a task or a job but rather to really enjoy the process.

I like to look at a piece of wood and try to envision what I can artfully create. It is my goal to make each piece better than the previous one. Though my main focus is the bowl, I like all kinds of creations from Christmas ornaments to baseball bats (which I make for my family and friends).

Turning is not my job – it is a pleasurable pastime wherein I continue to learn from fellow turners and to discover how much more interesting “turning” lies ahead.

Bob serves on United Maine Craftsmen Board of Directors and sells most of what he produces at craft shows throughout southern Maine. From there they are dispersed throughout the civilized world.

He is a member of the Maine Woodturners and the American Association of Woodturners.
