Hollow Turning

Hollow Turning

Prerequisite: Intro 1 and Intro 2 or approved equivalent experience.

Hollow turned vessels are the starting point for most of today’s “Turned Wood Art.” This course provides a review of the basic gouge techniques; explanations of various gouge configurations; and a brief history of modern day hollowing techniques. The student, using highly specialized tools (provided by us) will embark on the design and execution of his or her own hollow vessel. Once embraced, hollow vessels can become a most absorbing focus for the serious turner.

“The class worked great for me - thank you!”

The instructor was excellent. I appreciated not being pushed
to do too many projects, and that we had time to think about what
we were doing. I wouldn’t do anything differently.”
