This workshop spans two days of intense learning. Students can expect to turn at least one 15”- 16” platter and possibly two. Some limited texturing can be incorporated into each student’s design; milk paint may be employed if the student wants to use it.
We went to extra lengths to get special kiln dried blanks of highly figured wood for this class. They include “flame birch”, “birds-eye” maple and “curly maple”.
Dave Lancaster is one of the most widely recognized bowl turners in the world. As a full time production bowl turner with an international reputation of the highest order, he’s a familiar demonstrator at regional symposiums, local chapters, and of course the annual AAW national symposium. David’s demos always generate standing room only crowds. He is one of the most knowledgeable and freely sharing woodturners in the field today.
David was the founder of - and continues to be very active in the Maine Woodturners; and a long time member of the American Association of Woodturners, too.
When we can finagle a teaching session out of him we consider ourselves very fortunate; so when you see his name on our schedule be sure to sign up right away. The vacancy will not last long.
Cost for this Lancaster 2-day workshop is $440. Blanks will be charged as needed at $35/blank. Total cost will be $510 if you turn 2 platters. Price includes breakfast pastries, lunch, snacks and beverages.
